Rufus Monroe King opened here at 1031 St. Joseph Street in Gonzales, Texas in 1940 and built the current building in 1951. His son Rufus Melvin King took over and Grandson Rufus Monroe King II or Trey is currently running the Station Great Grandson Rufus Melvin King II is currently working there when not in school and will probably take over at some point. This was originally a Texaco Station but went independent in the 1990's You can get Full service and a Wash and Lube just like in the Old Days!- GEORGE BOUTWELL |
